Forestry mulching is a land clearing method that uses a single machine to cut, grind, and clear vegetation. Trees, brush, and stumps are mulched into small pieces that are spread across the ground as a natural ground cover. It's faster, cleaner, and more eco-friendly than traditional clearing methods.

Every property is different, so we don't use one-size-fits-all pricing. We price by the time the work actually takes, factoring in brush density, the size of the area, terrain and access. You get a fixed price after a free on-site assessment, and financing is available if you'd rather spread the cost.

Most residential projects are completed in a single day. Larger acreage or difficult access can take two to three days depending on size and complexity. You get a timeline estimate during your free assessment.

In most cases forestry mulching does not require permits, because there is no burning and no excavation involved. Local regulations vary by county and by critical-area status, so we help you confirm whether anything is needed for your specific parcel before we start.

Our mulching head handles trees up to roughly 12 inches in diameter. Larger trees can be felled first, then the tops, limbs and remaining brush are mulched. We walk the property and recommend the approach that fits what is actually growing there.

Yes. The mulch layer left behind slows soil erosion, returns organic matter to the soil, and removes the need to burn debris or haul it to a landfill. Nothing leaves the property and nothing goes up in smoke.

Yes. We run tracked equipment built for slopes and difficult ground, so hillsides and embankments that a wheeled machine cannot safely work are part of our normal week. Very steep slopes get assessed in person before we quote.

We work within roughly 45 miles of our Snohomish shop, covering Snohomish, King, Skagit and Island counties, plus cluster-scheduled work in Whatcom County. Our service areas page lists every city with a page, and a phone call confirms coverage for anything in between.

Not for the whole job. We do recommend being there at the start so we can walk the property together and confirm the scope and boundaries. After that we can work independently and send you photos.

There is no debris pile. Everything is ground into mulch on site and spread as ground cover, so there are no hauling trucks, no burn piles and no cleanup bill after we leave.

Our primary machine is a CAT 275XE with the upgraded HM415 forestry mulching head — a roughly $200,000 equipment package. It is a materially larger, more productive setup than the entry-level skid steer and mower combinations common in this trade, which is why dense blackberry and heavy brush go in fewer passes.

We knock it hard back. The mulching head works several inches into the surface layer, processing canes, crowns and near-surface growth, which is more thorough than surface-only mowing. Blackberry can still regenerate from deeper roots and seed, so durable control means monitoring the site and a follow-up pass where needed.
