How much does gravel driveway repair cost?

It depends on the driveway's length and width, how deep the potholes and ruts go, how much usable rock is left, and whether drainage needs work. Two driveways the same length can need very different work, so we don't publish a flat rate. After a free on-site assessment you get a written price, with any new rock or drainage work shown as separate options.

What's the difference between grading and resurfacing a gravel driveway?

Grading reshapes the surface so it has a crown and sheds water. Resurfacing adds or spreads rock on top. Our renewal does the grading first, using the rock already there, and adds new 5/8-minus rock only where the surface is too thin. That order is why the repair lasts longer than a top-up.

Do you repair long private roads and shared driveways?

Yes. Long rural drives and lanes shared by several households are a good fit for the CAT 275XE and PR121. We walk the full length on the assessment and can price the worst sections and the whole lane as separate options, which helps when neighbors split the cost.

When is the best time of year to fix a gravel driveway?

Accepted Answer

The work goes best when the ground isn't saturated, so late spring through early fall is usually easiest. We assess year-round, and a wet-season visit is useful because we can see exactly where water sits and runs. If your driveway needs drier conditions, we'll tell you on the assessment.

Should I repair my gravel driveway or replace it?

Accepted Answer

Most worn gravel driveways only need repair: regrading to fix potholes and washboarding, restoring the crown so water sheds, and reusing the gravel already there. Full replacement is only needed when the base has failed or the gravel is gone or mixed with mud. We check this during the free on-site visit and tell you which one your driveway needs.

Do you always need to add new gravel?

Accepted Answer

No. The first objective is to recover and redistribute usable existing aggregate. If the surface is too thin or contaminated, imported gravel is shown as a separate option.

Is this the same as dragging a box blade over the driveway?

Accepted Answer

No. The PR121 uses a powered roller and controlled angle to mill and condition the surface. The goal is to reopen the failed layer, not simply pull loose stone across it.

How do I get an exact proposal?

Start with the assessment form and include photos if you have them. A field inspection then confirms surface depth, access, drainage, usable aggregate and any new-material needs before the final proposal.

Can you build a brand-new driveway?

New construction is a separate custom assessment because base design, excavation, geotextile, drainage and permitting can materially change the scope.
