Gravel driveway resurfacing in North Bend: rain, river forks and forest
North Bend sits where the forks of the Snoqualmie River come together under Mount Si, and the weather gets wetter as you head toward the pass. Many homes outside the town grid are reached by gravel drives through second-growth forest, along the Middle Fork, or out toward Rattlesnake Lake and Tanner. Those drives take long, heavy rain events, runoff off steep mountainsides and needle-covered shade. Driveway resurfacing here has to start with getting that water off the gravel.
We walk the drive from the road to the house, marking where water enters from the hillside, where it crosses, and where it has cut channels or left sand and silt behind. Then we check how much sound rock remains under the organic layer. Most drives need reconditioning and a strong crown. Washed-out sections, new culverts or ditches, and floodplain drainage are custom work we quote separately after seeing them.
