Stump grinding in North Bend: large stumps on forested lots
North Bend lots outside town are often cut straight out of forest, with big Douglas fir, western hemlock and western red cedar all around. Clearing space for a house, shop, driveway or garden leaves large stumps, sometimes several in one small area. Ground near the river forks can hold buried rock, and the soil stays wet for long stretches toward the pass, so the machine's route in matters as much as the stump.
We measure the ground-line flare of each stump, then check for rock where we can, because rock dulls carbide teeth and can limit how deep we go. We also look at wet access, slope, and anything that needs protecting. Multiple large stumps in a clearing is a strong fit for the CAT 275XE and SG36. Utility locates come first, and chips can stay, be piled or be hauled.
