Private road and shared lane repair in Shoreline: bluffs, ravines and tall timber
Shoreline is mostly paved city streets, but a few pockets keep a wooded, rural feel. In places like Innis Arden, The Highlands and the Richmond Beach bluffs above Puget Sound, some homes are reached by private roads, shared lanes or long drives through tall conifers, and a portion of those are still gravel. They take shade, needle drop and runoff from the ravines that cut toward the Sound. When the crown goes, the whole lane holds water and potholes spread.
We find out who owns and maintains the lane first, because shared roads need everyone's agreement on scope. Then we check how much usable rock is left under the needles and moss, where water enters from the slope above, and whether the lane has anywhere to shed it. The plan is usually recondition and re-crown. New 5/8-minus rock, ditch work or culverts are separate line items.
