Driveway resurfacing on Stanwood's flat delta farmland
Stanwood sits at the mouth of the Stillaguamish, on flat delta farmland behind dikes, with Port Susan to the south and Skagit Bay to the west. Farm lanes and rural driveways here run long and level across ground that stays wet through winter. There is almost no natural fall to carry water away, so once a lane loses its crown, rain pools in the wheel tracks and the surface breaks up. Driveway resurfacing here has to rebuild that shape.
We look first at the lane's height compared with the fields and ditches beside it, because on flat land water needs a lower place to go. Then we check rock depth and how much soil has worked up into the gravel. The PR121 reconditions the surface and rebuilds a crown. If the lane sits below the fields or the base has turned to mud, that becomes a separate drainage or rebuild quote.
