Gravel driveway repair in Monroe: why they fail here
Monroe sits where the Skykomish and Snoqualmie rivers come together, with farm lanes across the valley floor and steeper private drives climbing toward the foothills along US-2 and SR-203. Those driveways take heavy winter rain plus delivery, farm and shared-neighbor traffic, and that combination turns a flat or thin gravel surface into potholes and washboard.
On valley-floor lanes the fix is usually shape: reopen the surface, recover the rock that traffic has pushed to the edges, and rebuild a crown so water leaves. On sloped drives we also look at where runoff is cutting ruts, and whether the surface needs new 5/8-minus rock placed and compacted in layers.
