Gravel driveway repair in Blaine: creek crossings and open border farmland
East of downtown Blaine and the Semiahmoo peninsula, the land opens into rural acreage along H Street Road and the valleys of Dakota Creek and California Creek, both draining to Drayton Harbor. Driveways here are often long and exposed, dipping down to cross a creek or a wet swale. North Whatcom also takes the strongest Fraser outflow winds, so winter can bring hard freezes on top of saturated gravel, loosening the surface and starting potholes and washboard.
We start at the low points, because that is usually where a Blaine driveway fails first. On the assessment we check the approach to each creek crossing or swale, whether the existing culvert is carrying water, and where the surface can shed runoff. Then the PR121 reconditions the lane, recovers rock and rebuilds the crown. Culvert, ditch and near-creek work is quoted separately and can carry county rules we check first.
