Pothole repair for Smokey Point gravel driveways
Smokey Point sits on the flat ground along I-5 between Marysville and Arlington, with the Lakewood area and a cluster of small lakes, Goodwin, Ki and Shoecraft, off to the west. The land is level and the soil tends to be sandy and gravelly, so water soaks in better than in the river valleys. The trouble here is different: potholes and washboard from steady traffic, and lake-lot drives where the rock has thinned to dirt.
Because the ground is flat, a driveway here only sheds water if the surface has shape. We check how much rock is still there, how deep the potholes go and whether roots or grass have crept in from the edges. Pothole repair with the PR121 means cutting into the surface below the bottom of each hole, then blending and re-laying it, instead of dropping loose gravel into holes that kick it back out.
