Stump grinding around Smokey Point and the Lakewood lakes
The Smokey Point and Lakewood area has seen a lot of new building, and many properties are former woodland opened up for homes, shops and parking. That leaves stumps of Douglas fir, cedar and alder close to new fences and driveways, plus bigger conifers on older lots around Lake Goodwin and Lake Ki. The level, well-drained ground is easy on machines, which makes this area a good fit for grinding large stumps several at a time.
We start by walking each stump with you, measuring the root flare at the ground and noting what is close by: a fence post, a shed, a dock or a buried line. Locates through 811 come first. Then we agree how deep to go and whether chips stay, get piled or are hauled away. Lake shorelines can carry county rules, so we check those before working near the water.
