Grinding multiple stumps on Arlington acreage
Around Arlington, a lot of stumps sit on acreage rather than in yards: along old fence rows, at pasture edges, in cleared building sites off SR-9 and SR-530, and on logged-over ground above the Stillaguamish valley. Some are cedar and fir cut decades ago, still solid and wide at the base. Others are cottonwood and alder near the river bottoms. When multiple stumps are spread across a property, a machine-mounted grinder earns its place.
On the assessment we count and map each stump, measure the widest root flare at ground level and plan a route for the CAT 275XE that avoids soft pasture and septic fields. We also ask what comes next: hay field, driveway, shop or garden. That decides the grinding depth for each stump and whether the chips are spread, piled or hauled away.
