Driveway resurfacing in Edmonds: long drives and steep easements
Edmonds is mostly paved streets and short driveways, but gravel survives in specific places: long private drives through the tall timber of neighboring Woodway, shared easements serving homes tucked behind others near Perrinville and Firdale, and steep lanes on the hillsides facing Puget Sound. Those drives combine shade, slope and several households' traffic. Moss and needles build up, rock drifts downhill, and potholes open where cars turn. Driveway resurfacing here means rebuilding shape on a narrow, sloped footprint.
We check the working width first, since hillside easements are often tight between fences and walls. Then we look at rock depth, where needles and soil have mixed into the gravel, and where runoff can leave without landing on a neighbor. Pothole repair on its own rarely lasts on a slope, so the plan usually includes rebuilding cross-slope with recovered rock.
