Stump grinding in Snoqualmie: Ridge yards and valley acreage
Snoqualmie Ridge was built on a forested plateau, so many of its yards back onto tall fir, cedar and hemlock left in wooded buffers. Those yards are compact and fenced. Below the Ridge, the valley and the land toward Fall City and Preston hold larger wooded lots and small acreage, where clearing leaves several big stumps together. They are two different jobs: on the Ridge it comes down to access, and on acreage it comes down to volume and ground conditions.
On the Ridge, we check gate widths, side yards and slopes behind the house, and whether a stump sits near a wooded buffer. Buffers and steep ground can carry city or county rules, so we check before work. On acreage, we count the stumps, measure every root flare at ground level and plan a route that won't rut wet soil. Either way, utility locates are called first.
